ABOUT ME

Hi everyone! My name is Hannah Dunlap and I am currently a fourth year student at Colorado State University studying Art Education with the goal of pursuing a career in teaching art at the secondary level. When it comes to art, I am the most passionate about painting, specifically realism and abstract. I enjoy learning about other mediums in my studio classes, but painting has always been my favorite. I am so excited to share my knowledge of art with others, and teach them how to be their own artist by finding mediums and styles they enjoy. I have always admired my art teachers for pushing me outside of my comfort zone and believing in my abilities, and I want to do the same for my students. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, but I realized I wanted to be an art teacher during my first semester of college. I believe art can make a huge impact on people's lives and can be tied into every other subject in school, and even relate to personal emotions or events. I am very excited to teach my future students the importance of making art!

In this portfolio...

In my portfolio you will find my learning from hands on experience in classrooms, as well as my artworks throughout my time at CSU. This will allow me to look back at the many strategies I have learned and implemented in my classes, and how I can evolve as an educator through the use of my own reflections.

Each quality teacher standard is paired with different artifacts throughout my student teaching semester, so I can show how my teaching achieves these standards. Lastly, my placement for student teaching is highlighted in this portfolio to show my growth as an educator.
